Raisa graduated with a translation degree and Masters in international business and enterprise, but quickly knew she wanted to get hands-on with business. For the next 7 years she grew JYC translations while working in various roles across investment banking, automotive financial services, and international business development in 5 countries. She’s also a chartered linguist by The Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIOL) and member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI). And when she’s not trying to continuously improve our processes and services she’s learning languages, Croatian is the last addition to the list.
As the perfectionist one, Raisa’s attention to detail is legendary. She’s the meticulous eye in charge of ensuring every text produced meets JYC standards.

Ayla qualified as a nurse, but her passion for international cooperation led her away from the hospital. She carved her own path in international cooperation and NGO project management across 3 different countries. This global experience ignited her love of languages and took her back to university to become a medical translator. She’s a member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI). She’s also a qualified medical Spanish teacher and examiner with Instituto Cervantes. And when she’s not writing about medical translation, you’ll find her in her garden growing medicinal herbs.
As the methodical one, Ayla is known for keeping her cool under pressure and works tirelessly to make sure even the most complex projects run smoothly at JYC.
I had a feeling Ayla and Raisa would be a perfect fit for our project, and the final outcome met my expectations. I was delighted to see that they put a great deal of focus on details and conducted a thorough edit of the document before sending it out.
